Sometimes things just keel over. Losing touch with a story.

What do you mean ‘things keel over’?

Exactly that. Last month I participated in “Nanowrimo” (NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth). A mad race against yourself to write a novel in a month. I love challenges like that. Note that I didn’t write a naturist novel, my alter ego (ehem) writes more mainstream fantasy and science fiction.

Mirror Earth

In doing so (I almost wrote 300 pages) I lost track of where I was going in the chapter I was writing for Mirror Earth 3. Sarah (you’ll need to know Mirror Earth and Mirror Earth 2 to know who Sarah is) was going to do something. When I got back to the scene after November I stared at the words and my mind went ‘all righty then… what were you going to do here?’

This means that I still dislike my mind because I have no answer for it.

The scene was well over one page already but no matter how long I looked at it, read it, thought about it… nothing popped up. Well bugger, as they say in England. I trashed the scene, read back to where things were still making sense and sat down to compose a completely new twist to the chapter.

It’s not the first time.

falling into a pitI’ve had this happen before because I’ve done Nanowrimo more than once. That doesn’t mean I’m getting used to it. Each time I promise myself to be more careful and to take better notes on where I’m going with a scene, and each time I fall into the same pit.

You’d think I’d have learnt after 7 years, right? Well, wrong. Next time though. I’m sure.  I think. 😀

The good thing about happenings like this is that the new scene usually is better than the one that I discarded. So far it looks like it. I threw out 400 words and I have regenerated 300 fresh ones yesterday. Words that make someone freak out (in chapter 31) over…. oh, wait, I shouldn’t divulge that.

I’ll get back to Mirror Earth 3 today. And to Naked Crow 7, another story I lost touch with, but that hasn’t grown large yet. I can pick that up again after browsing the last few chapters. I just need to figure out who got shot there, and how many people. (Yes, there is some actual shooting of people happening in Naked Crow 7. Trust me. I’ve made / will make it happen.)

A review on The Unsworth Manor Nudes

Accidentally I stumbled upon this review of my first historical naturist novel, The Unsworth Manor Nudes.

P.Z. Walker consistently weaves durable, engaging story lines into his finely developed books. This was especially delightful and fun as we follow this British family discovered the wholesome joy of nudism while in Germany and transported it to England in a wonderfully unfolding story that captured the early 1900s. It captures so well the social constraints of the time. May he continued to hold body freedom in yet more historical novels. This is a winner.”

This totally blew me away.

I am very proud of this.

A positive comment on the Unsworth Manor Nudes

Yesterday someone said:

Finished your book this afternoon. Enjoyable read. I found it quite interesting being an historical novel based on your research and facts. I think what I enjoyed most though was the evolution of the “proper English Aristocratic ideals” meld with their developing naturism. I think one excerpt said it all…“Nancy’s knees trembled as she took the first few steps but then steeled herself. If she was going to do this it would be in proper style. She was British…”. I loved the whole British/Naturists aspect. Was really fun.

I’m always proud to know that people appreciate my work.

A new book. It’s history.

History.

It took a while but it’s here. As of today, The Unsworth Manor Nudes is available in all the usual places!

Unsworth Manor, home of Cedric, Earl of Unsworth, his wife Margarete and their children. Margarete, of royal German descent, receives an invitation to visit her distant relative, Emperor Wilhelm II. They decide to make the journey. It will introduce them to a lifestyle that none of them had ever heard of before, but that will never leave them anymore.

The book is available at Smashwords, Amazon, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.nl, Amazon.it, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.ca, Amazon.au, Barnes&Noble, Apple iTunes and Kobo.

Keep your eye on this page for other places where the book will become available, or for when the paperback comes out. 🙂

The historical naturist fiction story

The historical naturist book

It’s really going to happen. It’s written and being distributed as you read this. August 1st it will be out there for everyone.

This was a very difficult one to write. So much history to go through, so much to look up and at and into.

I hope you’ll all like it.

Naked Crow 6! It’s ready and really out there.

Naked Crow 6

It’s really true. The book is out there for you. I’m so happy about this. When I first started writing Naked Crow, I had no idea if anyone would want to read it. You read it. And the next books.

I’m very proud and also humbled by all your encouragement and nice comments about this series… It’s for you that I wrote them.

If you want to run to Amazon, go here. If you want the paperback, go here. All the other stores are listed on this page about the book.

Nude Paul wavingThank you once again. You make me feel proud.

Naked Crow 6. We have a date. If all goes well.

Yes. A date. For Naked Crow 6.

I guess you all remember this image from before I went very silent. I was on a short vacation during which I wrote a lot of words for Mirror Earth 3 and Naked Crow 7. Some people wouldn’t call that a vacation but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

If the gods of publishing are with me, Naked Crow 6 will hit the e-shelves on June 1st of this here year 2017. Provided the lords of paper over at Createspace are willing, the paperback will become available a month later, so on July 1st. Also in 2017. In case you wondered.

So there you have it. The first of the next two months. If all goes well.

Paul

This is for all Naked Crow fans.

Hello again.

Yes, there is news about the Naked Crow series. Big news. News that comes in the form of the sixth book!

It’s going to happen quite soon now. The book is written, checked, corrected, edited, corrected even more and now I’m in the final stages of getting things together. Creating e-books, final judgment on the cover and creating the paperback version of the book. That last bit always takes terribly long so I’ll get the e-books out as soon as they’re ready. No need to make you wait for the paper version if you’re not waiting for that anyway. (Did you see what I did there? 😉 )

Right. Let’s have a look at that cover.

So there you have it. Title and image all in one. No details on the story yet, but you’ll find out soon enough now. I’m quite confident that I’ll be able to get the e-books out early June of this year, probably in the first week.

I hope this makes the approaching weekend and weeks somewhat more bearable. Thanks for your patience. It’s appreciated and will soon be rewarded!

The need for some serious thought and a glimpse of a cover.

Naked Crow

Naked Crow book 1

This is the book that started it all.

Naked Crow.

As you see, it’s not even numbered 1, as I had no idea that the book would become so popular that more of them would follow. Book 6 is currently in editing and we’re making good progress.

The strange thing is that these first 6 books came out of my head easily. Since a while I’ve been thinking about another book in the series. Bad for the followers of the blonde Shaman: so far nothing has come up.

This doesn’t mean the series will come to an end here. I just need a good idea to put into a follow-up book. As long as that isn’t there, the book won’t happen. I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s worth the wait to get a worthy next book in a good series, even if that means it takes a while before it comes out.

Mirror Earth

Institute
Institute.

For now I’m working on Mirror Earth 3 and that will have some surprising stuff for everyone, I’m quite sure of that. We’ll meet Roger and Elisabeth again, and Professor Holger. There’s some travel involved so far (for the people on one of the Earths, not for me yet alas!) and discovery upon discovery will be unveiled.

I had a good ‘talk’ with fellow writer Will Forest, on Twitter known as NudeScribe, and that talk gave me a lot of great input to incorporate into this new story. Again this proves that a person never writes a book alone. The help, input, feedback and even moral support of others are very important.

Historical fiction

Yes. I’ve mentioned this before. The story’s written; I’m currently reworking it. This story was difficult to write. It took a while and also a lot of research. I can only hope it paid off. Let me at least share something of it with you.

The Unsworth Manor Nudes

This is what you can expect to see once the book’s published. As I’m still reworking it, that means it won’t be soon. I know, this is teasing. Deal with it. 😉
