I guess you all remember this image from before I went very silent. I was on a short vacation during which I wrote a lot of words for Mirror Earth 3 and Naked Crow 7. Some people wouldn’t call that a vacation but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
If the gods of publishing are with me, Naked Crow 6 will hit the e-shelves on June 1st of this here year 2017. Provided the lords of paper over at Createspace are willing, the paperback will become available a month later, so on July 1st. Also in 2017. In case you wondered.
So there you have it. The first of the next two months. If all goes well.
Yes, there is news about the Naked Crow series. Big news. News that comes in the form of the sixth book!
It’s going to happen quite soon now. The book is written, checked, corrected, edited, corrected even more and now I’m in the final stages of getting things together. Creating e-books, final judgment on the cover and creating the paperback version of the book. That last bit always takes terribly long so I’ll get the e-books out as soon as they’re ready. No need to make you wait for the paper version if you’re not waiting for that anyway. (Did you see what I did there? 😉 )
Right. Let’s have a look at that cover.
So there you have it. Title and image all in one. No details on the story yet, but you’ll find out soon enough now. I’m quite confident that I’ll be able to get the e-books out early June of this year, probably in the first week.
I hope this makes the approaching weekend and weeks somewhat more bearable. Thanks for your patience. It’s appreciated and will soon be rewarded!
As you see, it’s not even numbered 1, as I had no idea that the book would become so popular that more of them would follow. Book 6 is currently in editing and we’re making good progress.
The strange thing is that these first 6 books came out of my head easily. Since a while I’ve been thinking about another book in the series. Bad for the followers of the blonde Shaman: so far nothing has come up.
This doesn’t mean the series will come to an end here. I just need a good idea to put into a follow-up book. As long as that isn’t there, the book won’t happen. I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s worth the wait to get a worthy next book in a good series, even if that means it takes a while before it comes out.
For now I’m working on Mirror Earth 3 and that will have some surprising stuff for everyone, I’m quite sure of that. We’ll meet Roger and Elisabeth again, and Professor Holger. There’s some travel involved so far (for the people on one of the Earths, not for me yet alas!) and discovery upon discovery will be unveiled.
I had a good ‘talk’ with fellow writer Will Forest, on Twitter known as NudeScribe, and that talk gave me a lot of great input to incorporate into this new story. Again this proves that a person never writes a book alone. The help, input, feedback and even moral support of others are very important.
Yes. I’ve mentioned this before. The story’s written; I’m currently reworking it. This story was difficult to write. It took a while and also a lot of research. I can only hope it paid off. Let me at least share something of it with you.
This is what you can expect to see once the book’s published. As I’m still reworking it, that means it won’t be soon. I know, this is teasing. Deal with it. 😉
As some of you know I’m working on the third book of Mirror Earth. As usual I don’t have the foggiest idea what will happen once I’ve determined the main story line.
I never know the details of what I’m going to do. I’ve tried making good and thorough plans for stories and those always go belly up unless they fall flat on their face.
So I was writing this and that and here and there, and then it was time to go to work. Got dressed, into the car and off I went. Along the way I was thinking about what I’d just done and I had this odd idea which I’m not going to tell you or you won’t need to read the book and then I’ve written it for nothing so forget that.
Anyway, at work I took a few moments to Google what I had thought up and blimey, buster, it fit the story perfectly!
It’s like clockwork clicking together its cogs and sounding the bell at the right time. I was totally stunned about that. Sometimes I have to twist some detail’s arm a bit to cooperate but this just worked.
It has to do with this thing on the right. That’s all I’m going to tell you about it. If you know what this is then I congratulate you on knowing things. Well done indeed.
I’ll now continue working on Mirror Earth 3, for which I don’t have a proper title yet. That’s okay though. It’s not a proper book yet either. It will come.
Since a while I’ve been working on a historical naturist story. It’s going well (it’s not near the end yet) but I’m getting a decent feeling about where it’s going. For that reason I started working on a cover image already.
I want to share with you what I’ve come up with so far.
I’m not telling you the title yet. I’m mean like that.
First of all: a great, big thank you to everyone who appreciates the books I’ve written so far. I wouldn’t be able to write them without you. Believe me that your reading enthusiasm helps me in writing more books and hopefully better ones.
Here’s a little update on what’s going on in the writing arena.
My faithful editor has taken it upon himself to go over Naked Crow 6. He’s working on it so I can see where I messed up. Being the good man that he is he’s not laughing too hard at the mistakes.
Unfortunately I haven’t gotten any inspiration (read: good subject) to put into a possible Naked Crow 7. It can still happen but I make no predictions.
I’ve started writing Mirror Earth book 3. It took me a while to find the good points to put in there and I think I found them so I started on that.
I’m slowly making progress with the historical naturist fiction story I started long ago. It’s not an easy one to write; it requires research and thought. I hope it will pay off though.
That’s what’s going here at the writing desk of this author.
Please bear and bare with me for the next book to arrive. In a few weeks I’ll write something about the new Naked Crow book that’s being scrutinised at the moment. Things like the title, and perhaps even the cover image.
Believe it or not, but the book might be approaching it’s final pages. 170 of them have been written so far and I think it turned out to be a decent story.
This doesn’t mean the book will be out soon as there’s a round of editing to be done, and I haven’t put any work into the cover yet, but I thought sharing this little update is a nice thing to do for those who await this book.
I’m not sure yet if there will be a book 7. So far no ideas have popped up for it, so don’t count on anything about that yet. This doesn’t mean there won’t be one, it might just take a while.
On the other hand I’m working on a small side project, a rather wild science-fiction-like story that I intend to post on here. Yes, a story you would read for free. I am still figuring that out. Writing that story isn’t easy because I’m trying to come up with a completely new setting and several other strange things and concepts.
Yes! It’s out and ready for whoever has been waiting for it.
In this sequel to “Mirror Earth”, Elisabeth and Roger live happy lives on the other Earth. They are still adjusting, but there are many people around to help them along. Denise, Walter, Jane and Sarah are back on their home Earth. Due to what’s called the failure of the time-fluxer project things aren’t that great. The scientists go on because they have to. Unfortunately they only have each other to fall back on because Professor Holger has little love left for them. Everyone thinks the troubles with the time-fluxer are over. It’s time to think again.
It’s done, arranged, planned, stripped of any clothing that’s not needed.
I have a date for Mirror Earth Revisited. On November 23rd, 2016 of this year the e-book will become available at all the usual places. (I’m talking about Amazon.anywhere, Smashwords, Apple iTunes, Barnes&Noble and so on.)
Advance notice: start saving 299 pennies. I’ve priced this book the same as Mirror Earth, quite low, as to make it available to as many people as possible.
I know. I’m great like that. Don’t growl if your local outlet asks a little bit more. That is due to taxes and stuff and therefore out of my control. And wallet, unfortunately…
Since we’re all waiting for the new book (you for it to come out, me for the print proof) let me treat you to the back cover text!
